Fiscal year 2023 was satisfactory for GIZ. Through various partnerships, commissioning parties and cofinanciers, we achieved a business volume of EUR 4 billion, which supported around 1,700 projects worldwide.

Partners and cofinanciers: achieving more together

GIZ is implementing more and more projects with cofinancing – including one to improve labour market opportunities in Jordan and another to support refugees in Türkiye. With additional resources from the Green Climate Fund (GCF), we are also contributing to climate change adaptation in Thailand. GCF has become increasingly important for GIZ over the last five years, receiving commissions to implement eight projects cofinanced by GCF with a total volume of EUR 669 million. Of this amount, EUR 278 million came from GCF, EUR 58 million from federal budget funds and EUR 334 million from other third-party funding providers.
